SINGLE ORIGIN

Ataco, El Salvador

Sourced from our farm in Ataco, El Salvador, this carefully dried cascara captures the delicate sweetness and complexity of the coffee cherry. Traditionally overlooked, cascara is now recognized for its vibrant flavors and natural versatility, offering a refreshing way to experience coffee beyond the bean.

Specialty Cascara

Grown at 1,400-1,600 MASL, this washed cascara is meticulously sun-dried to preserve its bright, fruity character. Once separated from the coffee bean, the husks are carefully processed, resulting in a naturally sweet and aromatic ingredient that can be brewed into a tea-like infusion or used in creative culinary applications.

FLAVOR PROFILE

Vanilla, black tea, and currant

With a naturally sweet profile and a smooth, tea-like body, this cascara offers flavors of vanilla and currant, complemented by the gentle depth of black tea. The dry cherry, tea, and vanilla aroma creates an inviting sensory experience, making it an exceptional alternative to traditional coffee or tea.

PROCESS

Washed

At Escondido Specialty Coffee, we carefully sun-dry our washed cascara in small batches to preserve its delicate flavors and natural sweetness. Using precise drying methods, we highlight its vibrant notes, ranging from bright, fruity nuances to rich, tea-like undertones. Each batch is processed with meticulous attention to quality, ensuring a fresh and flavorful infusion with every brew.
