SCA Barista Trainings Now Happening at Escondido Roasters

At Escondido, we’re proud to be more than just a coffee roaster. We’re a space for learning, community, and pushing specialty coffee forward. That’s why we’ve recently opened up our space to host SCA-certified barista trainings, led by internationally recognized coffee educator Mario Idrovo.

These hands-on courses have brought aspiring baristas, café owners, and coffee lovers from all backgrounds into our roastery for an immersive learning experience that meets the highest global standards.

Mario, a Q Grader, SCA Authorized Trainer, and former Barista Champion of Ecuador, brings years of experience to the table. Having trained hundreds of professionals around the world. His practical, no-fluff approach makes these trainings feel both approachable and elite.

We’ve already hosted multiple sessions of the SCA Barista Skills course at Escondido, and the response has been amazing. Not only do attendees get certified knowledge—they also experience it all in a working roastery environment, surrounded by the very machines, tools, and energy that define great coffee.

Mario also runs Cafering, a specialty coffee catering business that brings full-service coffee carts to events in Miami, offering the same level of quality and professionalism in a completely different setting.
